Geoffrey & Glenda Hubbard

“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter— when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood? Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard." Isaiah 58:6-8

Geoff and Glenda are currently based in Whangarei, New Zealand. Glenda has an amazing son who has blessed them with three delightful grandchildren 15, 13, and 7 years old.

As Community Chaplains Geoff and Glenda hope to befriend, disciple, and extend Christ’s compassionate love for people of all ethnicities in Spain, and in particular the refugees and migrants. They have a desire to advocate on their behalf and restore lost hope and purpose to their lives.

Geoff and Glenda’s hearts’ break for refugees who have crossed notoriously dangerous seas with the hope of seeking asylum. Many lives are lost on the crossing. If they survive the journey they arrive in refugee camps traumatised and exhausted. Then, while grappling with separation from family and friends they face all the settlement requirements such as getting visas, finding employment, housing, food, and education while learning Spanish and/or English. Feelings of anxiety and loneliness become their constant companions. Imagine, just imagine if you were them…

Geoff and Glenda hope to connect and build relationships with the refugees and to help them establish new lives for themselves and become independent of government assistance. Their desire is to empower them as they seek asylum (a fundamental human right) and to challenge the inequity of justice; they can’t do it on their own (Isaiah 61).

Would you prayerfully consider joining our prayer team and financially supporting us as we seek to serve God in Spain?

We leave in March 2023. Bless you!
